"My aunt has been at Alden of Old Town West since October 10, 2000. Before coming to Alden of Old Town West, she was in two other nursing home-type facilities since the late 60s. She was the youngest person at both facilities among a large population of senior citizens. She received adequate care at both places, but I saw such a positive change in Aunt Carol when she came to Alden. I attribute this to a much smaller resident population and a caring staff that works on a one-on-one basis with her. Everyone at Alden of Old Town West went out of their way to get to know her personality and her likes and dislikes. Carol moans and complains quite often, and the staff is able to tell if she is bothered by something, tired, hungry or even if she is uncomfortable and needs to be repositioned. She is stimulated visually by sounds, and the staff talks directly to her by her name and smoothes her hair or pats her hand. She feels loved and understood. I am happy that my aunt's needs are being met."
